I am a Finnish career diplomat, currently based in Brussels, with experience spanning public administration, international organizations, security research, journalism and the humanitarian sector.
Previously, my work has focused particularly on Eastern Europe, the Western Balkans and Central Asia. Through assignments related to the European Union, Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and North Atlantic Treaty Organization, I have developed specialised expertise in multilateral diplomacy.
I have lived in eleven countries to date and believe that reading and travelling are among the best ways to deepen one’s understanding of the world. I spend much of my free time on the road and listening to audiobooks. I have also written about my travels for various publications. For me, creativity is a way of processing and understanding the world and I practice it also through dance and photography.
